RAF Opens Qatari Institute for Vocational Training in Khartoum

Doha, July 24 (QNA) - Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) has opened the Qatari Institute for Vocational Training in the Sudanese capital Khartoum with a total cost of QR 1,640,000. RAF said in a statement on Sunday that the center trains annually 200 students in 9 professional specialties including electricity, carpentry, refrigeration, air conditioning, automotive power, auto mechanics, electronics, computer, in addition to a set of training programs and consultations for public and private sectors, and summer training programs for young people of both sexes. Built on 250 square meters, the center which hosts eight classrooms, four administrative offices and other supporting facilities is run by 30 employees among the most skilled technicians, experts and engineers, to train young people and enable them to earn professional skills. Commissioner-General for Humanitarian Aid Commission (HAC) in Sudan, Ahmed Mohamed Adam, expressed pleasure for inaugurating this project, which he described as "a humanitarian act" that would serve development plans in Sudan.
