RasGas Honours 288 Staff for Long Service

Doha, June 10 (QNA) - RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) honoured 288 employees for their loyalty and work for the success and growth of the company at its annual Long Service Award ceremony held here. The company honoured staff members with five, 10, 15 and 20 years of service, RasGas said in a press release issued here on Tuesday. Speaking at the event, RasGas Chief Executive Officer Hamad Rashid Al Mohannadi cited several key milestones in the company's history that helped shape the company's successes. "Fifteen years ago, RasGas delivered its first liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo from RasGas Train 1 to its first and largest customer, KOGAS of South Korea, the second largest importer of LNG in the world; a decade ago, the company delivered the countrys first LNG to India, who is the sixth largest importer of LNG in the world today; in 2009, the companys first mega train, Train 6, came online followed by second mega train, Train 7 next year each with a capacity of 7.8Mta, which brought the overall production capacity of RasGas to 37 Mta. Together, Trains 6 and 7 have greatly extended RasGas global reach bringing the total LNG production capacity of Qatar to 77Mta, the largest in the world," said Al Mohannadi. Today RasGas is one of the most successful energy suppliers in the world, he said. Apart from the seven LNG trains it oversees and manages two sales gas production facilities, two helium production facilities and the construction of the Barzan Gas Project which will support Qatars rising domestic gas demand, all in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030. Al Mohannadi thanked employees for their continued commitment and loyalty to the company, recognising them as the company's most valuable asset and drivers of RasGas' success as a world class energy supplier striving for excellence. "At RasGas we know that our people are central to our success, and it is why people is a core strategic choice. I am confident that with your support, we will continue to achieve our goals and set new standards for the energy industry. "The future promises to be even more challenging and more exciting for all of us, and I hope it is a journey that we will continue to pursue and enjoy our success together," he said. Among the long-service awards winners is Grace D'Souza. She is working with the company since 1994. (QNA)
