Ratchapakdi Park closed for maintenance

PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN, May 18 (TNA) -- The Ratchapakdi Park in Hua Hin resort town of Prachuap Khiri Khan province is set to temporarily closed of the park for one week to improve the park's scenery and beauty. Commander of the Infantry Centre at Thanarat Army Camp Maj Gen Danai Krittamethawee, in his capacity as the chairman of the Ratchapak National Park Management Committee said the park is set to be closed for seven days between May 23-29, in order for the parking lot to be cleaned up, the scenery to be adjusted and improved, and for all the statues of all the great Thai Kings to be properly cleaned and maintained, as the park has never undergone a major cleaning since its opening in July of 2015. The commander said he would try his best to complete the operation within the specified period. Furthermore, he informed that he has set up a committee to organise exhibition within the park to exhibition the biographies of the seven Kings to the public. Representatives from the Department of Fine Arts, Post Engineer Department, and historical experts from Chulalongkorn University have been asked to finalise the design of the exhibiton by the end of June, in order for the exhibition to be opened to the public by September 2016. The park has also joined hands with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the Prachaup Khiri Khan Provincial Office, and the Hua Hin-Cha-am Tourism Business Association to organise a lecture for tourist guides who led the tour in three languagese of Thai. Chinese, and English to prepare them to precisely tell the visitors about the park and brief history of Thailand. (TNA)
