RBAF Commander on official visit to Thailand

BANGKOK, April 23 (TNA) - Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah has led his entourage to pay an official visit to Thailand as the guest of the Royal Thai Armed Forces. Thai Supreme Commander General Worapong Sa-nganet on Thursday welcomed his Brunei counterpart and his entourage, whose visit to Thailand is aimed to show long-standing military ties between the two neighbouring countries in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), paving the way for both countries' sustainable development and stability in the long run. The RBAF Commander, whose visit to Thailand is also aimed to further strengthen military ties between Brunei and Thailand, while also enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two ASEAN neighbours in the lead-up to the ASEAN Community (AC), set to be formed by the end of this year, also inspected the guards of honour, together with his Thai counterpart, and attended an official reception ceremony, held at the Royal Thai Armed Forces headquarters on the outskirts of Bangkok.
