RCA breaks ground for Kidzone in Erbil refugee camp

The UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) has laid the foundation stone for its kidzone project at the refugee camp in Erbil in Iraq in the presence of Rashid Mohammed Al Mansouri, UAE Consul General to Kurdistan Region, and Sheikh Idris Barzani, President of Rwanga Charity Foundation. The project is the first of its kind in terms of recreational, sports and internet facilities, as well as musical and cultural activities. Rwanga Charity Foundation undertakes to build educational and cultural facilities while the RCA will construct the sports and entertainment complexes and the parents' rest house. The RCA hopes to complete the project in 45 days and publicise the concept to other refugee camps. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
