RCA's al-Hanan Hospital to operate soon in Mogadishu

Mogadishu – Nov 9, 2011 (WAM) - The Dh3million al-Hanan Hospital for the Motherhood and Childhood, being constructed by the Red Crescent Authority (RCA) in cooperation with Women and Health Alliance International (WAHA) under chair of Sheikha Shamsa bint Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, in the Somali Capital, Mogadishu, will be completed soon. Mohammed Khalifa Al Qamzi, Secretary General of the RCA, said the hospital, which will be the largest specialised hospital in Somalia, will receive sick women and children after two weeks, indicating that the hospital is equipped with the latest medical devices. He told Emirates News Agency (WAM), while touring the hospital and during which he met Dr Sinan Khaddaj, WAHA's Secretary General, that three operation theatres with capacity of 50 beds are now ready. They could be expanded to absorb over 100 beds. Al Qamzi added that the hospital is part of the RCA programmes in Somalia. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
