Real-time Environmental Monitoring System Established

Pyongyang, June 18 (KCNA) -- Scientists of the Environmental Science and Technology Institute under the Ministry of Land and Environment Protection in the DPRK recently established a nationwide real-time environmental monitoring system for scientific accuracy, objectivity and promptness in environmental monitoring. It is an environmental management system which stores in database the real-time information sent from observation posts through state-run network and, on this basis, analyses and estimates the atmospheric conditions. According to an official concerned, those posts have been set up in Pyongyang, Nampho and other major cities and provincial seats of the country. Public interest in environmental protection and nature conservation and management grows stronger than ever before in the DPRK and due measures have been taken for environmental protection in accordance with the important guideline set forth by the respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un to bring about a revolutionary turn in land management. -0-
