Reconstruction Project to improve Cyrus tomb

SHIRAZ, Oct. 28 (MNA) – Head of Fars provincial Cultural Heritage Organization said construction project will improve the Cyrus tomb venue. Mosayyeb Amiri told Mehr News local correspondent that the project would “improve the facilities, establish channels, lighting fixtures, flooring tomb’s platform and build visitors’ routes, and install closed-circuit cameras in the venue.” “This construction project will be carried out in the vicinity of the tomb; visitors entering Pasargadae Complex would still will have the possibility to visit other monuments such as Winged Human, special palace, Solomon’s portico, and other monuments,” said the official. “Visit to the tomb will be blocked until the end of the reconstruction project,” he added. “The project to improve the general environment of the tomb, a visiting route will be defined for visitors, and a special ramp for people with disability will facilitate their path to the tomb,” Amiri said. “Pasargadae is a major tourism attraction in the province, with thousands of tourists visiting the site annually; in the first six months of the current year, about 267,000 domestic visitors and 24,000 foreign tourists visited the site,” he added.
