Rector Of Ulm Attends "Herbal Ice Cream" Launch

BANJARMASIN, S Kalimantan, May 17 (Antara) - Rector of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM), Prof Dr H Sutarto Hadi, attended the product launch of "Herbal Ice Cream" at Jamu Cafe, Pejabat Village, Banjarbaru City, South Kalimantan Province. Sutarto said here on Wednesday that innovations in Pejabat Village must be continuously created and supported by good marketing. "This village has become a clean village icon, which is beautiful, healthy, and attracts many visitors," he stated. He also expressed hope that the popularity of herbal ice cream can increase the potential of the region and encourage creativity from the local people to make them more prosperous. Jamu Cafe, which was inaugurated on July 24, 2017, continues to be developed. Accompanied by a community service team from Faculty of Math and Science (FMIPA) of ULM, the local residents of Pejabat village, who work mostly as herbalist sellers, have succeeded in making innovative products from herbs, namely ice cream with toppings made of herbal medicines. The launch of the Herbal Ice Cream was held at Jamu Cafe, Pejabat Village, Banjarbaru Selatan Sub-district, Banjarbaru City. Besides the ULM Rector, the launch of the ice cream also was attended by Deputy Mayor of Banjarbaru, H Darmawan Jaya Setiawan; Dean of FMIPA; Head of Sub-district of South Banjarbaru, Danramil; police, team from FMIPA ULM, and the local community. Sutarto further remarked that in addition to herbal ice creams, they will also develop other products to enrich the unique culinary heritage of Pejabat Village.
