Red Crescent Authority announces Dh1.2 billion budget for 2014

Abu Dhabi (WAM): The Red Crescent Authority (RCA) has announced that its budget for 2014 was set at Dh1.2 billion of which 60 percent go for the agency's overseas humanitarian aid and 40 percent for its operations in U.A.E. The budget was announced by Mohammed Yousef Al Fahim, Deputy Secretary General for Support Service, at RCA's first media briefing at its head office in Abu Dhabi. "Last year, in U.A.E. and overseas, RCA has implemented humanitarian, relief and development programmes and orphan sponsorship plans worth more than Dh645.2 million, of which more than Dh179.6 million for U.A.E. operations and more than Dh447.5 million for overseas humanitarian operations, said Al Fahim. "In 2013, the increasing size of RCA's projects placed even bigger responsibility on the agency in terms of its commitment to help the homeless, underprivileged and refugees around the world," added Al Fahim. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
