Representatives Council condemns terror attack

Manama, July 1 (BNA): The Council of Representatives has strongly condemned the "cowardly" terror act that occurred on Thursday, and led to the death of a Bahraini woman and the injury of three children whose car was hit by shrapnel from the blast in East Ekar. In a statement, the Speaker of the Council of Representatives Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla stressed that the acts of sabotage carried out by terrorists would not impede the efforts of the security authorities to assume their duties of maintaining the security of the nation, the citizens and residents. He added that the arm of justice will reach the perpetrators of such a terror act, lauding all the procedures taken by the Ministry of Interior and the investigating bodies to launch a probe into the causes of the terror attack and those behind it. The Council of Representatives will welcome and strongly support all the security measures and procedures to be taken for the sake of protecting the homeland, the citizens and residents, Al-Mulla said. He affirmed that thanks to the people’s rallying behind the leadership, the Kingdom is capable of confronting firmly everything that poses a threat to its security, national unity and the cohesion of all the segments of its people. The Speaker extended warmest condolences to the victim’s family, praying to Allah Almighty to bless her relatives with patience and fortitude, and the wounded with speedy recovery.
