Residents in Thai Far South prepare for upcoming Vegetarian Festival

SONGKHLA, THAILAND, September 26 (TNA) - Like several other parts of Thailand, shrines and vegetarian cafeterias in the southern Songkhla Province are preparing for the upcoming Vegetarian Festival 2016. To observe the annual Vegetarian Festival as previous years, this year set to begin on October 1, local shrines and vegetarian cefetarias in Hat Yai, Thailand's southern business hub, in Songkhla, are preparing themselves ahead of the festival to serve a number of vegetarians. It is expected that more Malaysian and Singapore people will participate in this year's Vegetarian Festival in Hat Yai, as tour groups from the two neighbouring countries have already notified scheduled arrivals of their clients to their counterparts in Hat Yai. During the annual Vegetarian Festival, most shrines in Thailand normally offer vegetarian dishes to the public, free of charges, throughout the nine-day event. (TNA)
