RI, Australia To Hold Transportation Forum In Lombok

Mataram, W Nusa Tenggara, Aug 13 (Antara) - Indonesia and Australia are organizing a two-day meeting in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, on August 13-14, 2014, to discuss strategic issues related to transportation cooperation between the two countries. Transportation Ministry`s public communication center spokesman J.A. Barata stated here on Wednesday that the transportation forum was a high-level meeting between Indonesia and Australia. "This is the second meeting after the first one in Canberra, on May 1, 2013," Barata remarked, adding that the meeting this time will be jointly chaired by the secretary general of the Indonesian Transportation Ministry and the secretary of the Australian Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development. He remarked that the second meeting in Lombok will be attended by some 100 participants from the two countries. Barata affirmed that the Indonesia-Australia Transport Forum was part of an agreement inked during the bilateral meeting between the secretary general of the Transportation Ministry and the secretary of the Australian Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development in Canberra, in May 2013.
