Rohingya migrants injured in car accident in Thai South

BANGKOK, December 21 (TNA) - Eighteen ethnic Rohingya migrants, including three children, were injured Sunday after a pickup car they were travelling overturned in Thailand’s southern province of Phatthalung. Police said they were later sent to a hospital for treatment. The driver managed to escape the scene of accident and was still at large. It was believed that the Rohingya migrants illegally entered Thailand and were heading to the Thai-Malaysian border. Police said they would coordinate with officials at the Social Development and Human Security Ministry and probe whether the migrants were lured by human traffickers. (TNA)
