Rouhani says parliament enjoys high place in Iran

Tehran, Feb 19, IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani said in his weekly cabinet session on Wednesday that Majlis (Parliament) has a powerful place in Iran because it passes legislation obligatory for everyone. In late 2019, some demonstrations took place and the enemy was planning to exploit them, but the people of different parts of the country took to the streets and showed solidarity, unity and national security, he said. Referring to the US terrorist attack against the senior IRGC commander Lieutenant-General Qasem Soleimani at the order of President Donald Trump, he said no one thought the necessity of fighting terrorism and to what extent the security of the neighboring states are important to Iran. General Soleimani was the symbol of stability, national security and fighting terrorism. He touched the nationwide rallies of the 41st anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, saying that the participation of people was magnificent.
