Royal Medical Services accredited

Manama, May 3 (BNA): The Royal Medical Services has become the second accredited surgery training centre for Disaster Management and Emergency Preparedness (DMEP) in the Middle East. The American College of Surgeons (ACS) granted the accreditation certificate to the Royal Medical Services in recognition of the competence and preparedness of the BDF Hospital to deal with potential outbreak of epidemics and diseases, in addition to climatic or environmental emergencies. Royal Medical Services Commander Major-General Professor Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al-Khalifa paid tribute to the wise leadership and the BDF Commander-in-Chief Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa for their support. The accreditation was officially announced at the conclusion of an advanced course Disaster Management and Emergency Preparedness, which was held recently in Bahrain. The BDF Hospital Training and Development Directorate held the course in cooperation with the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the Regional Office for Disaster Management at King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences in Saudi Arabia. The accreditation certificate was presented to the Royal Medical Services Commander Major-General Professor Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al-Khalifa, on receiving a Saudi delegation from the Regional Office for Disaster Management at King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences.
