Royal support for sports welcomed

Manama, May 23 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa today at the Sakhir Palace received FIFA President Gianni Infantino. Representative to HM the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, was present. HM the King praised the FIFA President's efforts to support and develop the football sport, the world's most popular game. He also lauded the close cooperation and coordination between the Bahrain Football Association and the International Federation of Football, noting the national sport achievements made at the continental and global levels. HM the King highlighted Bahrain’s support for all sport activities for their significance for boosting friendship relations and building bridges of communication to disseminate values of friendship and tolerance among various cultures. He wished the FIFA World Cup 2018 success that will be held in Russia next month. The FIFA President welcomed HM the King’s keenness to promote sports cooperation between Bahrain and the International Federation of Football, praising the continuous development witnessed by the Bahraini football, as well as the various sporst achievements thanks to the constant royal support.
