RSI Surabaya Provides 60 Sickbeds For Poor

Surabaya, East Java, Jan 9 (Antara) - The Islamic Hospital (RSI) Jemursari, Surabaya, said it has provided 60 sickbeds for low income people under the health security scheme of the Social Security Organizing Body (BPJS). The government has launched what it calls a landmark program in the country`s public health history effective as from January 2014 paying the premium for the health insurance for the country`s millions of poor people. "We are ready to serve BPJS patients as from January 1, 2014," chairman of the foundation, that owns RSI of Surabaya (Yarsis), Prof H Mohammad Nuh DEA said here on Thursday. Mohammad Nuh, who is minister for education and culture, said the foundation has prepared "BPJS Center" and tens of beds for BPJS patients. "I have checked the readiness of RSI Jemursari Surabaya. The hospital would not reject BPJS patients," he said. RSI Surabaya includes RSI Jemursari and RSI Wonokromo, both agree to treat BPJS patients starting January 1, 2014. The two Islamic hospitals provide BPJS Center to serve patient holding the BPJS insurance. Last Saturday, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono visited Surabaya to inspect the readiness of hospitals and health centers in the East Java city to implement the BPJS program.
