Russia’s state arms seller to display 1,000 weapon systems at Defexpo India 2020

MOSCOW, February 3. /TASS/. Russia’s state arms seller Rosoboronexport will demonstrate about 1,000 weapon systems at the DefExpo India 2020 arms show, the company’s press office announced on Monday. "Rosoboronexport (part of the state corporation Rostec) will discuss joint projects with Indian partners at the DefExpo India 2020 land, naval and homeland security exhibition and feature about 1,000 models of armament and military hardware. The exhibition will run in the city of Lucknow, the state of Uttar Pradesh, on February 5-9, 2020," the press office said in a statement. "As part of their strategic partnership, Russia and India are implementing large-scale joint projects that fully comply with the Make in India program. Rosoboronexport is actively working with major Indian industrial companies - HAL, OFB, Bharat Forge, Bharat Dynamatics, etc. - and we always appreciate the highest level of their expertise," the press office quoted Rosoboronexport CEO Alexander Mikheyev as saying. Today, with the assistance of Russia’s Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation and Rostec’s participation, Rosoboronexport has registered joint ventures in India to produce Kalashnikov AK-203 assault rifles whose local content production will reach 100% and Ka-226T helicopters, the chief executive said. "At Defexpo India 2020, we expect to discuss on-going projects with our Indian colleagues and present a wide range of products from the Russian defense industry," Mikheyev said. At the Defexpo India 2020 exhibition, Rosoboronexport will organize a joint Russian exposition. It will feature products from Russia’s major defense holding companies, such as the Almaz-Antey Group, the Russian Helicopters rotorcraft manufacturer, Tecmash, Uralvagonzavod Corporation, the United Engine Corporation (UEC), the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC), Shvabe, Morinformsistema-Agat and the Rubin Aviation Corporation, the press office said. In addition, a number of companies will exhibit their products at the Rosoboronexport stand, including Remdizel, the manufacturer of Taifun-K family of armored vehicles, Promtechnologia, the developer and manufacturer of ORSIS rifles, Avtomatika Group, the developer and manufacturer of UAV countermeasures systems, as well as Argus-NV, Proekt-Technika Corporation, NPO RusBITech Research and Production Association, GIRD Group and Training Systems, it added. Rosoboronexport will showcase the latest Russian weapons in Lucknow: the Club-T mobile missile system, the 300mm 9K515 multiple rocket launcher, Kalashnikov AK-200 series assault rifles, new ammunition for tanks and multiple launch rocket systems, the T-90MS main battle tank, the Alexandrit-E mine countermeasures ship, upgraded Mi-28NE and Mi-171SH helicopters. A full-scale mock-up of the 57mm AU-220M automatic lightweight artillery system developed and manufactured by the Burevestnik Central Research Institute will be on display at Rosoboronexport’s stand. The system is intended to be mounted on the chassis of an infantry fighting vehicle or an armored personnel carrier and can be used as a stationary weapon to protect coastal installations and as an air defense system. In addition, Rosoboronexport will demonstrate scale models of the Amur-1650 diesel-electric submarine, the Pantsyr-S1 self-propelled anti-aircraft gun/missile system, counter-drone systems, the MKTG-500 mobile maintenance support system, the Taifun-K family vehicle, the Ka-226T light utility helicopter and the MiG-35 multi-functional frontline fighter, the press office said.
