Russia and Argentina have good prospects for military-technological cooperation - Shoigu

MOSCOW, April 22 /TASS/. The high level of cooperation between Russia and Argentina opens prospects for more profound interaction in military and military-technological spheres, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said after meeting his Argentinian counterpart Agustin Oscar Rossi on Wednesday. "Argentina is our vital and reliable partner in Latin America. The level of cooperation existing between our states signals that we have good prospects for our further joint work and military and military-technological cooperation," Shoigu said. -0-fil According to him, Moscow is satisfied with the dynamics of development of bilateral strategic partnership with Argentina in various spheres. "The two countries are actively developing a political dialogue and coordinating their actions in the international arena," the Russian defense minister said. He added that plans to implement major joint investment projects were "taking concrete shape" and that cultural and humanitarian contacts were growing. Shoigu expressed the hope that the agreement, which Russia and Argentina were expected to sign on Thursday, would mark another step forward in bilateral cooperation. Previous reports said Argentinian President Cristina Fernandez Kirchner was planning to sign more than 20 documents, including a statement on establishment of comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia, during her visit to Moscow. The Russian and Argentinian defense ministers discussed military and military-technological cooperation between the two countries as well as global and regional security at their meeting on Wednesday.
