Russia confident of resolving int’l issues in partnership with Turkmenistan – Putin

Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, Oct.28 By Huseyn Hasanov– Trend: Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a congratulatory letter to Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the occasion of the Day of Independence of Turkmenistan (Oct.27-28). Putin expressed confidence that the two countries will intensify the whole complex of the bilateral relations and expand partnership in resolving the topical issues on the regional and international agenda. “This fully meets the interests of our brotherly nations and aims to ensure the stability and security in Central Asia,” according to the letter published in the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper on Oct.28. Putin said Turkmenistan’s influence is increasing on the international arena, adding that the country has achieved great success in the economic, social, scientific and technical spheres. “I express satisfaction with the high level of relations between Russia and Turkmenistan based on the long-standing traditions of friendship and mutual respect,” the Russian president noted. Russia holds leading positions among Turkmenistan's largest foreign trade partners. The cooperation with Tatarstan, St. Petersburg, Astrakhan, Sverdlovsk regions of Russia has been recently intensified. Over 190 enterprises with Russian capital were registered in Turkmenistan. They are implementing more than 240 investment projects in the country. "Revival," "KAMAZ," "Itera," "Zarubezhneft," "Siberia," and other companies are among traditional partners of the country. One of the strategic areas of partnership between Turkmenistan and Russia is the gas sector.
