Russia highly appreciates level of cooperation with Kazakhstan - Naryshkin

ASTANA, October 6. /TASS/. Russia highly values the level of the inter-state and inter-parliamenary cooperatioin with Kazakhstan and the work of national delegations at international parliamentary events, speaker of Russia’s State Duma Sergey Naryshkin told Chairman of Kazakhstan’s Mazhilis (the lower house of parliament) Kabibulla Jakupov. "We are very positive and highly appreciate the level of our cooperation both at the inter-state and at the inter-parliamentary level," Naryshkin said. He noted that a meeting of the mixed Russia-Kazakhstan parliamentary commission had taken place on the eve. According to the State Duma speaker, there was a very lively and interesting discussion, which lasted several hours. "We are satisfied with the way our delegations work at various international parliamentary venues," Naryshkin said. He added that Russia and Kazakhstan had a common stand on the fact that parliamentarians of the two countries at monitoring missions during various election campaigns should comply with single rules and be equal with respect to any country in the OSCE space where the elections are held. The speaker recalled that Russian MPs worked as observers in Kyrgyzstan and would soon go to Belarus and Azerbaijan. "I know that our lawmakers taking part in these elections show their adherence to principles and share a common viewpoint," Naryshkin said. He thanked Jakupov for organizing the Eurasian Economic Outlook forum in Astana. For his part, Jakupov expressed his gratitude to Naryshkin for participation in the forum. "Of course, Russia has always been for Kazakhstan the closest, the most friendly and strategic partner," Jakupov said. He noted that the presidents of Russia and Kazakhstan met often. According to Jakupov, this attests to their trust to each other and the common goals of Russia and Kazakhstan. The Eurasian Economic Outlook forum gets underway in Astana. It will bring together parliamentarians from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, China, the leaders of the Eurasian Economic Commission, representatives of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), heads of regions of Russia, Kazakhstan and China where the Silk Road economic belt will run.
