Russia to take part in ADMM-Plus maneuvers in South China Sea in 2016

SINGAPORE, May 30. /TASS/. Russian military plan to take part in the ADMM-Plus exercise in the South China Sea in May 2016, the Russian Deputy Minister of Defence, Anatoly Antonov, said on Saturday at the 14th Shangri-La Dialogue international conference on security in Asia. "We're considering participation in the ADMM-Plus exercise on naval security and counteraction to terrorism that will take place in the South China Sea in May 2016," he said. "Joint exercises and maneuvering make it possible to raise the smoothness of collaboration during the rebuffing of threats to our countries," Antonov said. ADMM-Plus is a mechanism of the Defence Ministers Meeting of ASEAN and partner nations. It was set up in 2010. It embraces ASEAN member-states and eight major dialogue partners of the group, including Russia. Read more
