Russia wants to create free trade zone with SCO, ASEAN - State Duma speaker

MOSCOW, April 19. /TASS/. Russia would like to create a free trade zone in the future with the member-countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and other Asian countries, Chairman of the Russian State Duma (lower house of parliament) Sergei Naryshkin said on Tuesday at the first meeting of parliament speakers of Eurasian countries underway in Moscow. "In the long term, we would like to create a free trade zone with both the member-countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and ASEAN countries and other Asian nations and, relying on this basis, to develop industrial cooperation to the greatest possible extent, including high-tech cooperation," Naryshkin said.
