Russian Defence Ministry calls on US-led coalition to share with it information on IS in Syria

MOSCOW, October 6. /TASS/. The Russian Defence Ministry has urged members of the U.S.-led coalition to share with it the intelligence data on the targets associated with the activity of the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group in Syria, Deputy Defence Minister Anatoly Antonov said on Tuesday after a meeting with military attaches of a number of countries. "I’d like to repeat using the TV channels’ possibilities: if our colleagues from the anti-IS coalition have specific data, specific parameters, targeting assignments for the IS gangs, we’ll be thankful for these data that we’ll use in our work," he said. "It’s this message from our defence minister that I’ve conveyed today to the military attaches of the countries that were present at the meeting with me and my colleagues from the Russian General Staff," Antonov said. He also urged the participants in the coalition against the IS militants to have a joint discussion of this task. "I’d like to appeal to you once again: enough communicating with each other only through the media. Come to us. Come to the General Staff. Let’s sit down together and try to jointly solve the problem we are all facing," Antonov said. Read more
