Russian Defense Minister arrives in India to attend bilateral commission meeting

NEW DELHI, October 25. /TASS/. Russian Defense Ministry Sergei Shoigu has arrived in India where he is going to co-chair a 16th session of the Russian-Indian intergovernmental commission togeter with Indian Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar. "In the course of the meeting, the sides plan to sum up the results reached over the past twelve months and to map out priority steps in the field of cooperation in defense technologies," Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Gen Igor Konashenov said. "The sides will look at practical steps towards intensifying bilateral interaction and specify the steps in connection with the projects already endorsed," he said. Also on Wednesday, October 26, Shoigu and Parrikar are expected to hold talks. Apart from high-rank officers from the Defense Ministry, accompanying Shoigu on the this trip is an impressive delegation of business executives from defense manufacturing companies, Gen Konashenkov said.
