Russian Official: Moscow Honored To Host Iran Cultural Week

Moscow, Oct 2, IRNA - - Russian Deputy Minister of Culture Andrey Buskin said on Monday It is a great honor and pleasure for Russia to host Iranian Cultural Week. He was speaking to reporters at a joint press conference with Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini in Moscow. Buskin said Iranian culture has been full of great features and nowadays Iran's rich cinema displaying the country's ancient culture has attracted many audiences. "Iranian cinema as the beating heart of the Iranian culture is well known in the world, winning numerous prizes at international film festivals, he added. He said developing cultural ties between Iran and Russia in different dimensions is beneficial to both countries and therefore Iranian and Russian officials should do their best to strengthen and deepen mutual cultural ties. Hosseini arrived in Moscow on Monday morning to inaugurate Iran Cultural Week. Upon his arrival, he was warmly welcomed by Iranian Embassy staff in Moscow. During his four-day stay, the Iranian minister will hold talks with a number of Russian officials and Iranians residing in Russia. Iran Cultural Week is to open simultaneously in Moscow and Saint Petersburg on Monday. Some 50 Iranian artists will display their artworks and several Iranian movies will be screened during the one week event. Live performance of Iranian traditional music is among other programs of the event./end
