Russian world-famous university awards Azerbaijan’s First Lady with Honorary Professor title

Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb.13 / Trend S.Agayeva / President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador, MP Mehriban Aliyeva has been awarded a title of Honorary Professor of the world famous I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University. "Leadership of the I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University has decided to award First Lady of Azerbaijan Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva a title of Honorary Professor of the I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University for her special merits and significant contribution to addressing global problems in health, environment, as well as in maintaining peace and humanity," a letter of the I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University rector, corresponding member of the RAMS, professor, doctor of medical sciences Peter Vitalevich Glybochko, says. Mrs Aliyeva's charity is appreciated in the Russian Federation. Russian office of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation jointly with the Azerbaijani youth organization implements a number of important projects, including projects such as "Oncological diseases have no nationality," "Youth against AIDS and drug addiction," "Make sure you are healthy", as well as conducting charitable actions in hospitals, orphanages and old people's homes. The letter also says that Mrs Aliyeva's participation in vital programs aimed at protecting mothers and children, fight against thalassemia, child diabetes and other diseases, is very valuable. "It is very significant and pleasant for us that our graduate Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva promotes and raises the prestige of the I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University with her activities in international scale," the letter says. It should be noted that the title of Honorary Professor of the I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University, which is well-known for its graduates, who are authoritative scholars and public figures in the medical sphere, awarded only two person before - the world-famous cardiologist, Academician of RAS Yevgeny Chazov and world-famous cardiac surgeon, academician Leo Bokeria.
