Sales from OTOP Midyear 2017 fair

BANGKOK, May 27 (TNA) - Sales in the eight-day OTOP Midyear 2017 fair amounted to 857 million baht including local and international orders for future deliveries worth 107.9 million baht, the Interior Ministry reported. Chayaphol Thitisak, deputy permanent secretary and spokesman of the Interior Ministry, said the trade fair on May 18-25 at the IMPACT exhibition and convention complex in Nonthaburi province was successful as 360,000 people visited it and bought quality products from more than 3,000 shops selected from all regions of the country. Sales of products in the fair amounted to 857.5 million baht, exceeding the 800-million-baht target earlier set for the fair. The sales comprised 749.6 million baht from sales within the fair and 107.9 million baht from local and international orders for future deliveries. Best sellers in the fair included Sukhothai-styled gold ornaments with 17-million-baht sales and ornaments from Chanthaburi province with a combined sales value of 32.2 million baht. Three most popular categories of products with high sales were fabric and clothing with sales worth 267.9 million baht, appliances and decorations with 103.2-million-baht sales and food products with 96.7-million-baht sales.
