Saudi Ambassador condemns mosque terror blast

Manama, May 23 (BNA): Saudi Ambassador to Bahrain Dr. Abdulla Abdulmalik Al-Sheikh strongly condemned the terrorist blast which targeted yesterday (Friday) the "Imam Ali Ibn Abi Taleb" mosque in Kudeih in the Qatif province in Saudi Arabia, leaving a number of worshippers killed and injured. In a statement to Bahrain News Agency (BNA), he denounced the despicable terrorist explosion which, he said, has nothing today, whatsoever, with tolerant Islam. He stressed the need to be on the alert to thwart the designs of parties that seek to subvert the security and stability of Saudi Arabia and drive wedges between people, underlining the importance of standing united with the Saudi leadership amid regional challenges and developments. Dr. Al-Sheikh described the terrorist blast as a dangerous escalation which aims at undermining national unity, pointing out his country’s resolve to take all the necessary measures to defend its security and stability and protect people’s lives. He commended Bahrain, GCC, Arab and Islamic countries which strongly condemned the terror blast, stressing his confidence in the ability of Saudi security authorities to track down the perpetrators and bring them to justice. He extended condolences to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud as well as the Saudi Government and people, particularly the bereaved families.
