Saudi Tourism and Antiquities Commission Chief Visits Katara

Doha, October 08 (QNA) - Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities Chairman, Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, on Thursday visited Katara accompanied by Mohammed bin Khamis Al Muhairi, director general of the UAE National Council for Tourism and Antiquities. Katara Director General Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti received the two guests at Katara where they were briefed on the future projects at the cultural site and its main facilities such as the Katara Amphitheater, Drama Theater and Katara Opera House. "Katara is a cultural and touristic edifice par excellence that achieves Qatar's endeavors in paying attention to heritage and culture," Prince Sultan bin Salman said during the tour. In turn, Dr. Al Sulaiti expressed delight at the visit through which Prince Sultan bin Salman learned more about Katara and the main events and activities held there. "Katara has become a Qatari and Gulf tourism destination as it sees large numbers of Gulf visitors throughout the year, particularly during holidays and main festivals such as Katara Traditional Dhow Festival and Halal Qatar Festival in addition to Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha festivals," he said, noting that visitors find all forms of relaxation, entertainment and knowledge. At the end of the visit, Dr. Al Sulaiti handed commemorative trophies to Prince Sultan bin Salman and Al Muhairi.
