SC for Delivery and Legacy Joins MoI Labour Day Events

Doha, May 04 (QNA) - The Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) celebrated the International Labour Day organised here by the Ministry of Interior (MoI), in association with its internal departments and external agencies. In a statement today, the Supreme Committee said, the Indian Community Benevolent Forum, under the umbrella of the Indian Embassy in Doha, also supported MoI's ILD programme. The MoI celebration included a day of entertainment, cultural, musical, sports (volleyball and football matches), and safety and security awareness programmes held at Al Rayyan Sports Club. Health organisations from Qatar conducted free health screenings and educational events on the sidelines of the events. Over 5,000 workers comprising different nationalities from more than 50 companies joined in the events. Speaking at the event SC Communications and Marketing Executive Director Nasser Al Khater said, "It is Supreme Committee's honour to support the Ministry of Interior on this important day that celebrates the diversity of our community and the workers that are helping build our country. "Using sport and football in particular, to deliver social and educational programming is an important part of our mission. The event successfully combined educational and recreational programmes to raise the welfare of workers and bring people together, in line with the Supreme Committee's legacy goals." (QNA)
