SCH Banns Two Imported Food Products

Doha, June 24 (QNA) - Supreme Council of Health (SCH) on Wednesday issued a circular to all ports in Qatar to ban the entry of two food products, these are 'instant coconut milk powder - 50gm pack'; and 'instant coconut cream powder - 250gm pack' imported from Malaysia under the trade mark (Santan). In a statement issued today, SCH said that the two products were banned for failure to match the standard specifications, and for containing milk which is not declared on the label. SCH earlier received a notification from the GCC rapid alert centre for food and crisis management on the two products. Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) last week released a statement showing that HG Holdings Company recalled Santan brand instant coconut milk powder and instant coconut cream powder from the Canadian market.
