SCHEDULE FOR NAT'L GREAT FESTIVAL

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The schedule for sports and cultural events has been approved to be held within the National Great Festival for the 806th anniversary of the Great Mongolian Empire and the 91st anniversary of the Mongolian People's Revolution. Ahead of the opening of the National Great Festival, the tournament for national archery in Uriankhai style will take place at 10.00 am on the archery field near the National Stadium on July 7; the archery contest in Burayd style--at 10.00 am on July 8; and the archery contest for juniors--at 10.00 am on July 9. On the eve of the National Festival, the horse-racing contest for khyazaalan category (4-year old horse) will run on the Horse-Race Arena at 8.00 am. In addition, opening ceremonies of the national archery contest will take place at 10.00 am on the Archery Field, and of National Flag Day--at 10.00-11.00 on the Sukhbaatar square. From 12.00 pm to 12.20 pm, a ceremony will take place to pay respect to Monuments of Chingis Khaan and D.Sukhbaatar; and from 02.00 pm to 04.30 pm, the horse-race for shudlen category (2-year old horse) will run. At 08.00-10.40 am, horse-race for stallions will run on July 11. After this, a ceremony of placing the Nine White Banners will take place on the National Stadium, and then the State Head Ts.Elbegdorj will give an inauguration speech on the ceremony of the National Great Festival. Related sports contests for national wrestling, archery and horse-race will continue on July 12; and small festival for horse-race trainers will take place on the horse-race arena on July 13. B.Khuder
