School of Business names its library after J.Batmonkh

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The School of Business at Mongolian State University (MSU) has decided name its library after late J.Batmonkh, a political leader and professor of economics. This library was founded in 1997 with 600 books, now it has some 70 thousand books and five reading halls. The family of late J.Batmonkh has donated to the library some 1,000 books. Born 1926 in Uvs aimag, Batmonkh Jamba was a political leader and economics professor, and is considered as a person who significantly contributed to the bloodless outcome of the democratic revolution of 1990. He became a member of the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party in 1948. In 1951, he began his career as a professor at the Pedagogical University. In 1973, after working as a professor and rector of the university for over twenty years, he was promoted to Minister of Sciences. In the spring of 1974, he was promoted to Vice Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the MPRP. In June of 1974, he became Chairman of the Council of Ministers, an office analogous to Prime Minister, and in 1984--the Head of State when the party's long-time leader, Tsedenbal Yumjaa, was ousted in a party session.
