Science and technology fair opened

NONTHABURI, Aug 18 (TNA) - Thailand’s National Science and Technology Fair 2018 is officially opened on Friday featuring inspiring scientific activities and innovations. Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha presided over the opening ceremony of Thailand’s largest science and technology fair of the year, organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology at Impact Muang Thong Thani until August 26. In his opening remarks, Prayut called for scientific researches and innovative creativities to enhance the country’s development. Human resource development plans was an important part of the 20-year national development strategy because scientists would be strong force for innovations, he said. The large exhibit of science and technology are held by collaboration of over 100 private and public organizations from 10 countries. Its main feature is nine inspirational creations consisting of innovations of the year. The exhibitions that received most attention include “Cave Entrapment” which is a mock-up Tham Luang Cave where the rescue mission for 12 young footballers and their coach took place. The exhibit imitates geological features of the cave and other survival and rescue gear used to extract the boys for the cave complex during the 17-day mission from June 23 to July 10. (TNA)
