SCO member-states hold talks in Kyrgyz capital on Peace Mission drills

BISHKEK, December 11. /TASS/. Representatives of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member-states have gathered for talks in Kyrgyzstan’s capital Bishkek on preparing for joint anti-terrorism international drills, the Peace Mission-2016, the country’s General Staff said on Friday. The exercises will be held for the first time in Kyrgyzstan’s territory, the press service of the General Staff said. "Military delegations of Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China and Tajikistan are taking part in the talks," the statement said. The talks will focus on the issues of "comprehensive support for the upcoming anti-terrorism drills." The meeting of the SCO member-states’ representatives in Bishkek will last through December 12. The Peace Mission exercises are held in the SCO member-states once in two years. In 2007, the drills were held in Russia, and in 2010 in Kazakhstan. The exercises are conducted in line with the 2007 agreement signed between the member-states. Read more
