SCO RATS Council to discuss stepping up measures against terrorism, separatism, extremism

TASHKENT, September 18. /TASS/. Stepping up activities in the spheres of combating terrorism, separatism and extremism against the background of the current world threats will be discussed by the participants in the 27th meeting of the Council of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), which will be held in Tashkent on Friday under the chairmanship of Uzbekistan. The public relations centre of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) told TASS that the meeting will be attended by representatives of China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and the SCO RATS Executive Committee. In particular, the meeting will discuss the plan of work of border service experts of the SCO member states in 2016. In addition, the meeting participants will assess the results of the joint anti-terrorism exercises of SCO member states CentrAsia-Antiterror-2015, which ended in Kyrgyzstan on September 16. The meeting participants will also discuss the improvement of the legal framework of cooperation among SCO member states in the fight against terrorism, separatism and extremism.
