SCO representatives to discuss security issues at session in St. Petersburg - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW, June 30. /TASS/. Representatives of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) will discuss issues of global security in the region and response measures to crisis situations at a session in St. Petersburg, the Russian Defense Ministry’s press service told TASS on Tuesday. "On 30 June 2015, a session of defense ministers of member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization will take place in St. Petersburg with Russian Defense Minister Army General Sergey Shoigu as chairman," the press service said. The delegations from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will participate in the session. The session will focus on pressing issues of international and regional security, looking for ways to consolidate efforts to respond to new threats and challenges in the SCO zone. The sides will also sign a Plan for cooperation between defense ministries of SCO member countries for 2016-2017. Read more
