SCW meets EOUs officials

Manama, July 25 (BNA): The Supreme Council of Women (SCW) met the Equal Opportunity Units (EOUs) of the ministries and official institutions and private sector establishments as part of the Supreme Council of Women (SCW)'s monthly meetings to boost cooperation and coordination and to establish and/or activate the EOUs. The SCW met EOU officials in the Finance Ministry, Industry, Commerce & Tourism Ministry, Public Prosecution, Civil Service Bureau, Health Regulatory Authority, Public Administration Institute, Al Ayam Printing and Publishing Corporation, Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Company (ASRY). The meeting familiarized the attendees with the National Plan for Revival of Bahraini Women 2013-2022, the National Model for Inclusion of Women's Needs and Requirements, follow up of EOU committees business and promotion of the fifth edition of HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Award for Empowerment of Women. These meeting was held in the light of the Civil Service Bureau (CSB)'s Circular # 4 which obliges all governmental entities, ministries, institutions, authorities to create their own equal opportunity units. The circular stipulated that the Supreme Council of Women in association with the Administrative Monitoring Directorate at the Civil Service Bureau will monitor all governmental efforts in this respect. The circular also stipulated the direct tracking of these committees which is the responsibility of the relevant minister in coordination with the Supreme Council of Women (SCW) and the Civil Service Bureau (CSB). The EOUs in governmental and privates institutions are duty-bound to support the Supreme Council of Women (SCW)'s efforts and promote them to enforce the principle of equal opportunity and the inclusion of the National Plan for Revival of Bahraini Women in government programmes.
