Search continues for missing chopper

CHANTHABURI, June 26 (TNA) - Officials early Sunday continued to search for the missing helicopter of the Royal Thai Air Force, believed to have crashed on Saturday evening in Chanthaburi. Officials said the chopper was flying from Lop Buri on a mission to carry food supplies and necessities to a radar station on Chamao mountain in Chanthaburi. Contact was lost and the chopper disappeared from the radar near a forest in Kaeng Hang Maew district of Chanthaburi province while the weather was cloudy. Local villagers in Kaeng Hang Maew district reportedly told officials that they heard a loud explosion. Three persons were aboard the chopper including a pilot, a co-pilot and a mechanic. (TNA)
