Second Volume Of ‘Cultural Encyclopedia Of Iranian People’ Published

Tehran, Sept 16, IRNA - The second volume of ‘The Cultural Encyclopedia of Iranian People’ has been published. The head of the editorial board of the encyclopedia is Kazem Mousavi-Bojnourdi. The encyclopedia features the most important issues about Iranian people’s spiritual and everyday cultures in 20 categories. Some of them are: Iranian cuisine, clothing and costumes, games and theater, handicrafts, music, popular literature, popular medicine, beliefs, religions, customs, traditions, rituals, organizations, characters, anthropological institutes, influential people, books and folkloric texts. The volume includes words starting with the letters B, P and T and is comprised of 277 entries. The first volume contains 400 entries starting with ‘Ab’ (water) and ending with ‘Baran’ (rain). Some 100 writers and researchers have cooperated in writing and compiling the encyclopedia. Mohammad Jafar Qanavati and Asghar Karimi were the heads of the editorial board for the first volume of the encyclopedia. This volume is in 771 pages./end
