Security officials prepares for new school semester in Narathiwat

NARATHIWAT, May 11 (TNA) – Security agencies in the violence-plagued province of Narathiwat convened a meeting in preparation for the start of the new school semester next Wednesday. Yaya Panako, chief of Muang Narathiwat district met Pol Col Charoen Thammakhan, superintendent of Muang district, school principals and representatives from agencies concerned on Friday to discuss the plans to provide security for teachers, travelling to school and returning home. In violence-prone areas, security will be tightened on main and secondary roads.The meeting rolled out guidelines for teachers and schools for their safety. For example, they are instructed to inform security officials if they make unscheduled travel. Schools are advised to improve landscapes around the school areas and to give tip-offs to officials about suspicious persons in the communities. (TNA)
