Seha Announces Vision Correction And Lenses Cover

Doha, 03 May (QNA) - Qatar's National Health Insurance Scheme (Seha) Saturday announced offering eye vision correction, contact and frame-mounted lenses to beneficiaries through appointed optical outlets. Seha will cover prescriptions for lenses and frames from contracted network providers through the scheme, by visiting Magrabi Optical outlets in Qatar, NHIS said. The optical coverage includes ophthalmic lenses, spectacle frames, contact lenses and contact lens fitting. Members can pick up prescribed eyeglasses and lenses for a value up to QR 1,000 every two years through Sehas optical equipment network. Insured member will not have to pay cash up to QR 1000 since Seha will honour prescription bills directly from network providers. The member will have to settle cash bills for prescription amounts above QR 1000. Magrabi Optical brings six outlets into the Seha provider network. The list of outlets is available at www.seha.qa Seha offers Qatari citizens comprehensive health insurance coverage for full range of basic health services, through a network of public and private providers, NHIS said. The insurance cover includes in-patient and out-patient services including; preventive care, emergency treatment, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, long-term care, radiology, ophthalmology, laboratory testing and prescription medicines. Seha expects to offer cover for dental services next month. The website mentioned above lists provider network and schedule of benefits. Qatar citizens have to show their Qatar identity card to use Seha services at a network provider. They have to submit their residential address during their first visit. A plate put up on all buildings in Qatar by the Centre for Geographical Information System (CGIS) displays the home address, NHIS said. (QNA)
