Seminar On ˈSa'adi, Yunus Emreˈ To Be Held In Iran, Turkey

Tehran, Feb 4, IRNA – Ceremony commemorating Saˈdi, a great Iranian poet, and Yunus Emre, a Turkish poet, will be held in Tehran, Shiraz, Ankara and Eski Shahir in April. Deputy head of Shahr-e Ketab Institute for cultural and international affairs, Ali Asghar Mohammadkhani said that Saˈdi and Emre are the two significant and influential poets in Persian and Turkish languages and literature and bear numerous similarities in terms of social influence and popularity. He added that Saˈdi is the poet of centuries who is very popular with the Iranian people and most of foreign nations. He has composed poems containing messages of altruism, peace and love. Emre is also one of the greatest and most popular Turkish poets who has greatly influenced the Turkish literature and mysticism, he said. Emre had a good command of the Persian and Turkish languages and was familiar with the Islamic sciences and history, Mohammadkhani added. He went on to say that like Molana Jalaeddin Rumi and Saˈdi, he hated war and favored peace. The seminar on ˈSaˈdi and Yunus Emreˈ will be held in Shahr-e Ketab Cultural Center in Tehran from April 14-15, in Shiraz on April 19 and in Turkey in late May.
