Serbia wants to participate in gas projects of Azerbaijan, Zoran Vajović

Baku, February 5 (AzerTAc). “Serbia wants to participate in the natural gas transportation projects from Azerbaijan and the Caspian Sea to Europe,” Serbian ambassador to Azerbaijan Zoran Vajović has today stated in the press conference. He stressed that Serbia is interested in diversifying gas supplies. Gas cooperation of Serbia and Azerbaijan will depend much on the choice of export route for Azeri gas. If by July Azerbaijan will give preference to gas pipeline Nabucco West, then Serbia will be able to receive Azeri gas from Hungary. If the preference will be given to pipeline TAP, then the import Azeri gas by Serbia can be complicated. Yesterday, vice president of SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) Elshad Nasirov announced making of the final investment decision on the 2nd phase of Shah Deniz Project, within which Azeri gas will be delivered to Europe in October 2013.
