Several Thai areas warned of summer storms

BANGKOK, March 26 (TNA) - The Meteorological Department has warned several areas in all parts of Thailand to beware of and prepared for summer storms. The Meteorological Department said in a latest statement that a moderate high pressure ridge is covering Thailand and the South China Sea, which, coupled with the warm weather, are triggering summer storms with heavy downpours, gusty winds and hail in several areas. The weather agency, therefore, warned people in Thailand's northern, northeastern, eastern and central regions, including Bangkok and its peripheral provinces, to take precautions for the natural phenomena from March 25-26. According to the Meteorological Department, easterly winds are also moving to cover the Thai South later Monday, causing widespread thundershowers, with heavy downpours and strong gusts in some southern areas.
