Shell to invest BT1.5 billion in 3 years in Thailand

BANGKOK, September 5 (TNA) - Shell Company of Thailand has announced that it plans to invest 1.5 billion baht more in Thailand within the next three years due to expectations that energy consumption in the Kingdom would double in the next 15 years, according to Asada Harinsuit, chairman of the company. He said his company is determined to cooperate in boosting energy security for Thailand as it would supply crude, finished oil products, liquid gas, especially liquefied natural gas, to meet local demand. Shell also has 50 ships for oil transportation, he said. The 1.5 billion baht will be invested on expanding and renovating existing Shell petrol stations, transfer of administering oil station technology to the Thais and on promoting the use of alternative energy, Asada added.
