Shura Council hails Bahraini women's role

Manama, Nov. 29 (BNA): The Shura Council has affirmed that the celebration of Bahraini Women's Day is a national occasion to recognize the Bahraini women's march, and it extended congratulations to every Bahraini women who has contributed to Bahrain's progress, in recognition of their pioneering role as an active partner in the Kingdom's development progress. In a statement issued during on its weekly session today, the Shura Council highlighted the Bahraini women's outstanding role in local, regional and international arenas during the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, thanks to the government under the leadership of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and constant support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister. It noted that celebrating women in financial and banking sector this year affirms the importance of women's role in this vital field over the past 50 years, given its impact on the Kingdom's progress, during which women became a partner in the national development, in line with HM the King's vision. It expressed thanks to women for their continuous achievements in all fields, including their significant role in the legislative work march. The Shura Council lauded the remarkable role played by the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) under the leadership of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women, in driving women's efforts in all areas and empowering her of performing her role in the development process. Women empowerment, rehabilitation and abilities enhancement was achieved through programmes and planed embedded in the National Plan for the Advancement of Bahraini Women. The session was held under the chairmanship of First Deputy Chairman of the Shura Council Jamal Fakhro. It started with approving the minutes of the previous session, then reviewed the items on the agenda.
