Shura Council holds extraordinary session

Manama, June 13 (BNA): The Shura Council has approved a draft-law on amending some provisions of Law 3/2008 with regards to the General Authority of Social Insurance. During an extraordinary session, held here today under the chairmanship of Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh, the Shura Council endorsed the amendment approved by the council’s Services Committee. Under the bill, a new clause, (c), stipulating that deduction in pension benefits or increasing the contributions shall not be allowed without the approval of the Cabinet, will be added to article 8 of the law,  The session also extended sincere congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, on Eid Al-Fitr. The Shura Council also congratulated the Bahraini people, as well as the Arab and Muslim nation on EId Al-Fitr, wishing them many happy returns of the occasion.
